Artist Statement
Art should be about the relationship between artist and art lover. Sculpture is meant to be beautiful, balanced and tactile so you are invited to see, touch and enjoy my work. My goal is to engage each viewer and to form a collaboration with him. I enjoy breaking the rules so you won’t ever see the words “Do Not Touch” on my work.

Artist BioRick Lazes has been creating three dimensional art forms for three decades. He has worked in several mediums including wood, concrete, plaster, stainless steel and marble. Rick started his career as a cabinet maker and so his craft is essential to his art. Each piece is carefully crafted with meticulous attention to details. Rick generally works in series of sculptures with 8-10 pieces developed within a common theme. His work is often conceptual and makes a thematic statement that is often related to the world that surrounds the artist.
